The West Midlands Fire Service is committed to supporting business to keep them safe from the effects of fire and to ensure businesses adhere to their legal responsibilities under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
Good fire safety management is essential to ensure fires are unlikely to occur, when they occur they can be controlled quickly, and to enable everyone in your premise to escape to a place of total safety easily and quickly. A fire risk assessment ensures your fire safety procedures, fire prevention measures, and fire precautions are in place and working properly.
Offer advice and support on a range of fire safety matters such as:
- Managing stock levels
- Maintaining fire exits/escape routes
- Staff training
- Testing of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
- Preventing arson attacks
- Reducing false alarms
- If needed fire safety advice for premises with sleeping accommodation
