DISC Crime Prevention App

Disc is the unique information-sharing system that’s helping drive down low-level crime and antisocial behaviour across the UK. It empowers communities to ‘self-manage’ low-level crime and ASB, and enables police to work with them to deliver a new kind of effective, joined-up community policing. Disc is used in more than 450 towns and cities, as well as by shopping centres, major retailers, sports venues, security companies and the police. Each implementation can link together into flexible networks to exchange information locally, regionally or nationally.

If you are a business operating within the BID area and would like access to the DISC app FREE of charge please email bidmanager@sohoroadbid.org with your name, Business Name, address and email address and you will be added tot he system.

Bleed Control Kits – Locations

In December the Soho Road BID in conjunction with Desmond Jaddoo and Cannon Street Church launched 24 Zero Responder Bleed Controls along the Soho Road Business Improvement District and gave out free training to all the businesses involved in the scheme.

We have 20 emergency zero responder bleed control kits in strategically placed business and 4 carried by our Ambassador team so they are accessible throughout the BID area at a range of times to improve accessibility. The kits provide important lifesaving equipment to stop severe blood loss fast and potentially saving a life in emergency situations.

A huge thank you to the businesses listed below that have kits installed in there premises. Each business will display a sticker on their shopfronts in-case of an emergency situation.

Business Improvement Districts are business led partnerships which are created through a ballot process to deliver additional services to local businesses.

They can be a powerful tool for directly involving local businesses in local activities and allow the business community and local authorities to work together to improve the local trading environment.
